Law Journey’s workshop provides students with an insight into what studying law
is like at undergraduate level and offers guidance, tips and tools to help students secure a place at one of the UK's leading institutions.

WHAT WILL THE WORKSHOP COVER

IS LAW FOR ME?

The course will look at the range of law modules you can study, what the compulsory modules that need to be studied are and what legal exams at university level consist of. We will also discuss the range of legal extra-curricular activities that are available for students such as debating and mooting. You will also be given the chance to work on and present on a legal problem-solving exercise during the Workshop.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

The workshop will cover what the key components of writing a successful personal statement are. We will focus on how a statement should be structured, what a statement should include and how individuals can draft a personal statement that is unique and will stand out from other candidates. We will critically evaluate a range of Personal Statements that have been successful at securing candidates offers from leading UK institutions.

UNIVERSITY CHOICES

We will go through the entry requirements of leading universities for law, focusing on how individuals can make strategic choices based on their predicted grades.

LAW NATIONAL ADMISSIONS TEST (LNAT)

The workshop will cover what exactly the LNAT test entails and provide tools, tips and insights that will help students prepare for the test. We will have an LNAT specialist tutor go through a range of sample questions, discussing how to revise for the exam and how to tackle the questions in an appropriate manner.

OXBRIDGE INTERVIEW

Students who have read law at Oxbridge or are currently studying law at the institutions will go through what the interview process was like. The workshop will cover the kind of questions that come up during the entrance interviews and how best to successfully tackle them.

SOLICITOR / BARRISTER – ROUTES TO QUALIFICATION

Law Journey’s workshop will cover the different paths that are on offer to qualification for students and the different options that are available to qualify as either a Solicitor or Barrister. Students will also hear from lawyers working within the City who will share their experiences of what working life is like for a practicing lawyer.
